Nipun Bhatnagar

Nipun Bhatnagar is a composer, orchestrator, and multi-instrumentalist originally from New Delhi, India, and now based in London. He has composed music for a wide range of films, including short fiction, animation, and feature-length documentaries. Nipun is also an accomplished orchestrator, working on numerous studio productions for filmmakers around the world.

Driven by a passion for exploring new musical styles and drawing inspiration from unconventional sources, Nipun’s music stands out for its unique character. His recent work includes composing the score for "Chardi Kala – An Ode to Resilience", directed by Prateek Shekhar, which was the runner-up for Best Long Documentary at the 15th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala in 2023. His music has been recorded by internationally acclaimed musicians at the Budapest Art Orchestra, and in 2022, he recorded the score for "Perspectives" (Dir. Eva Wikke) at Air Studios, London, with engineer Jake Jackson.

Nipun frequently collaborates with Grammy and Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, among others, as an orchestrator. He has also worked as an orchestrator and arranger for major live concerts, including performances for A.R. Rahman, Atif Aslam, Arijit Singh, and orchestras such as the Firdaus Orchestra (Dubai), RTVE Symphony Orchestra (Madrid), and Chromatic Brass Collective. Additionally, he arranges music for the popular "Candlelight Concerts" series by Fever and has contributed arrangements and productions for a range of upcoming composers and artists worldwide.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Boston, Nipun received the Soren Christensen Award for his exceptional talent, along with multiple merit-based scholarships. In 2020, he was selected as one of thirteen composers for the prestigious Society of Composers & Lyricists Mentorship Program in New York. Although Nipun holds a degree in physics from the University of Delhi and once worked in the corporate world, he left that path to fully pursue his passion for film composition. However, his interest in science and technology lingers and continues to influence his music in unique ways.
